Waterfront Studio, Toronto's premier creative hub, is thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for artists seeking an immersive residency experience. We invite visual artists, fashion designers, and content creators from diverse backgrounds and mediums to apply for our Artist Residency program.
About Waterfront Studio
Inspired by the captivating shores of Lake Ontario, Waterfront Studio is a state-of-the-art broadcasting studio and creative house that aims to uplift and support artists in their creative endeavors. Our fully equipped facility offers cutting-edge audio and visual tools for podcasts, live shows, professional photography, and online content creation. With a commitment to fostering creativity, Waterfront Studio provides an inspiring environment for artists to thrive.
Residency Details
Studio Space: The selected artist will have full access to the spacious downstairs area of our loft, offering an ideal space for artistic creation. Rest assured, the area will remain aesthetically pleasing for podcast filming upon request for bookings.
Artistic Contribution: The artist will have the opportunity to showcase their talent by providing art for the south wall leading upstairs. Waterfront Studio takes no responsibility for hanging the artwork or any damages that may occur.
Art Sales: During the residency, any physical art sold by the artist will be considered exclusive to the artist. It is essential that all sales transactions are properly documented and available for viewing by both parties at any time.
Podcast Production: As part of the residency, the artist will host a one-hour podcast once a week. The podcast will be exclusively produced by Waterfront Studio, ensuring high-quality production values and professional support.
Live Streaming: The artist will also have the opportunity to live stream once a week, exclusively produced by Waterfront Studio. This exciting platform will enable the artist to engage with a broader audience and showcase their creative process.
Application Guidelines:
To apply for the Artist Residency at Waterfront Studio, please submit the following:
Artist Statement and Bio: Introduce yourself, your artistic practice, and your background. Provide a brief artist statement outlining your creative goals and how this residency opportunity aligns with your artistic vision (Max. 500 words).
Portfolio: Share a selection of your work that best represents your artistic style and medium. This can include visual art, previous podcast episodes, or examples of live streaming content. Please provide links to your portfolio or attach relevant files.
Project Proposal: Describe the project or series of works you plan to develop during the residency. Explain how you intend to utilize the studio space and engage with the Waterfront Studio community. Outline any specific requirements or technical needs for your project (Max. 500 words).
